Monday, June 19th – A Memory, A Monologue, A Rant and A Prayer: Writers on Violence Against Women and Girls. World renowned writers contribute original pieces addressing the issue of violence against women, bringing their particular vision, talent and take on the issue with performances by celebrated actors including La Chanze, Sarita Choudhury, Rosario Dawson, Troy Garity, John Benjamin Hickey, James Lecesne, Charlotte Martin, Brittany Murphy, Cynthia Nixon, Denis O’Hare, Victor Rivers, Isabella Rossellini, Lois Smith, Marlo Thomas, Nia Vardalos, Kerry Washington, and more. Last year’s proceeds, which went to the Heroes Hospitality Fund, helping us pay for the travel arrangements of our incredible guest list, exceeded all expectations! In fact, it was so big last year that auctioneers Cully Hamner and Todd Dezago were too tired to repeat their duties this year, so we went out and convinced Gus Vazquez and Rosario Dawson to take over! And we’ve doubled the amount of space this year, so get ready for the biggest event of the summer! Note that this will take place in the Westin Charlotte Ballroom, just across Stonewall from the Convention Center! Thursday, July 6th – Occult Crimes Taskforce, Rosario’s comic book, is in stores today! Sunday, July 16th – The ESPY Awards, airing on ESPN at 8:00PM. Rosario is scheduled to present an award. Friday, July 21st – Clerks 2 in theaters today! Alright everyone that should keep you up to speed. Stay cool because lawd knows it’s hot.
