Many updates to come! But for now, a message from Rosario
{nl}Dear Joliz and Friends @ Rosario Online,I am delighted to share with you some wonderful news. Parents, Families, and Friends of Lesbians and Gays (PFLAG) of New York City is honoring me at their upcoming Awards Dinner. This is something I am enormously proud of and I hope that you will join me in celebrating this event by attending the dinner, or by placing an ad in the dinner journal. For more than thirty years, PFLAG NYC has worked to promote positive, supportive relationships among gay men and women and their families and friends. The organization is a leading voice in educating and advocating for equal rights for all who are LGBT.You may be familiar with PFLAG NYC’s “Stay Close” campaign, a print, television and radio campaign which features straight celebrities and their gay family members and the message, “Stay Close because relationships are too precious to lose.” I was thrilled to appear in the “Stay Close” campaign with my uncle Frank, someone I love very, very much. Others in the campaign include Cyndi Lauper, Ben Affleck, Barbara Cook, Hon. Richard Gephardt, Cristina Saralegui, and Congressman Gregory Meeks along with their gay family members. Please go to www.stayclose.org to learn more.I will be in good company that evening as PFLAG NYC will also be honoring Barbara Cook, Judge Doris Ling-Cohen, Time Warner, and the American Fertility Association.I truly hope that you can support this wonderful event and this wonderful organization, and I would be so grateful, personally, if you would be involved. The event is on Monday, October 9, at Tribeca Rooftop, 2 Desbrosses Street, New York, NY 10013. Tickets can be purchased online at www.pflagnyc.org, or by calling Kara Solomon at (917)279-9924.Please note: The extended deadline for ads is September 22. If you cannot attend the event, it would be so wonderful if you could place an ad in the journal.Warm regards,Rosario{nl} {nl}Thank you to Frank Jump for sending it our way!
