Dear Friends:
I am thrilled to nominate the Lower Eastside Girls Club’s founder and leader, Lyn Pentecost, for a Diane von Furstenberg People’s Voice Award.
The People’s Voice Award recognizes women who – through their courage, leadership, vision and commitment – have helped to transform the lives of other women. I can’t think of a better nominee.
For 15 years Lyn has dedicated her life and work to the Girls Club and I hope that the People’s Voice Award will recognize her efforts and success (have you seen that big building going up on Avenue D yet?)
Lyn embodies the ideals of the DVF Awards, and the aspirations that I have for women and girls everywhere: the courage to lead, a passion for progress, and dedication to changing the lives of NYC’s most at risk girls, one by one.
The winner’s organization receives $50,000 at the upcoming Women in the World summit at the UN, a powerful gathering of the world’s women leaders.
Voting ends February 15th – vote NOW and tell all your friends!
Peace and love,
Rosario Dawson
