As a big fan of yours we thought about sending something wild and crazy to you on your birthday but we know you’ll get enough of that so we’ll just keep this one simple. We think you are a gorgeous and talented latina who is a true inspiration not only to your own race but to mankind as a whole. A lot of celebrities are quick to squander any ounce of fame they have on something selfish but you have decided to take the path less traveled and spend more of your time guiding young women and men in their lives by being an inspiration rather than an idol. God truly smiles upon you every day Rosario and we want you to know that we as your devoted fans love you for that. We hope today is only one of many happy birthdays in your life mija! Wish we could be there to celebrate with you! Happy Birthday!!!

All the best on your special day,
Jason and Lillian Martinez

Ms. Dawson,
I believe that this may be my very first attempt at fan mail ever. That said, you are phenomenal. Every role that I have ever seen you cast in has been performed stunningly. As well, the roles that you choose appear to be chosen with a grace and art that few other thespians could ever match.
Thank you for what you do.
I thought for some time about what I might send for a birthday wish and decided that nothing but my best would do for such a beautiful and talented woman. So I chose a song. I write and perform music and this is the song that came to mind when I thought of you.
Happy Birthday. You amaze and inspire me.
Sincerely,
sede

Have a great birthday from one taurus to another!
Been a fan ever since I saw you in Rent. In that role the character that you played (physically and emortionally) looked a lot like a dear friend of mine who went through a very hard time in her life. Glad to say she made it through and has a fantastic life now.

Dear Rosario Dawson,
Happy birthday! I became a fan later in the game and I now truly regret it because there are so many things that you do and share with the world. I don’t consider you an actor, but an explorer and with each passing year you are blessed with the opportunity to continue to explore and share those things with people who are not as fortunate; people like me. You’re a window for your fans to experience the greater things on this earth than just our streets, neighborhoods or cities.
In many ways you have become an inspiration for me in my life when dealing with both acting and compassion; all of this without even having a personal connection or knowing who I am. You have power, and you exercise it responsibly. That is why I hope that this 32nd year provides you with many more lessons, prevailing trials, and opens up new opportunities for your light to shine. You are truly the voice of the new generation (I’m a prince fan too, sue me).
With love,
Saushonia, 18yrs , CA.
P.S. I’ve been performing the Chelsea Walls poem for my class and by demand for Spring Fest. Tomorrow, I’ll be doing it again in honor of your birthday.

I’m not going to be very original or creative.

I just wanna tell you how much I admire you. You have made such a beautiful career, you have been in many of my favorite movies (maybe my top1 is Rent, where you were beautiful and amazing as Mimi Marquez). And you seem a very beautiful person. Im from Argentina and I will love if you someday could come here. You would love people in here.
Wishing you a very very happy birthday, spend a beautiful day with people you love
Jessica Johanna

Happy birthday Ms. Dawson!

If I only knew you better to say how beautiful of a person you are. As an actress, I find you great for playing such versatile roles and doing them tastefully. I feel you’re very underrated, but that might be the mark of your humility not to be so grandiose in the spotlight. I believe humility garners the greatest rewards. Plus, it all makes up for your work as a humanitarian and activist, which I greatly respect and admire. It’s inspiring the way you’re so involved with an array of organizations for social progression in such active ways.
And even more to add, your simply gorgeous! Absolutely gorgeous! My friends would tell you how serious my crush for you is. The funny thing is that, we sort of met last summer. Remember the Brave New Voices spoken word competition you co-hosted with Common in July? I was from the New York team who won, one of the boys in the “Childhood” poem. I was so focused on giving my best effort to the performance and for my team that I didn’t gush or turn red in your presence. I guess I was how you must be in the process of doing a scene. But to be that close to you and your smile was a blessing in itself. It’s something I’ll never forget.
Ah shucks! I should have sent you a poem with this. Maybe another time. Maybe we’ll meet again. Regardless, you’ve got a true fan and admirer here. I hope one day, the woman I end up spending my life with will be similar to you. But then I’m sure you would tell me, to love her for who she already is.
Have a splendid birthday! =)

Dear Rosario

My name is Uros, I’m from Slovenia (European Unity). I took a little bit of a pause between the exams for Master of arts degree and I draw you from a photo I found on the web. It took me about a month of work at approx. 9 to 10 hours per day. The technique I used on it are acrylic colors for underpainting and then drew over with colored pencils and Conte’s aquarelle colors in pencils. For those two stripes on far left and right corner I used Austrian Dukat’s Doppelgold gold leaves of 23 or 24 karat (I not quite sure, but at least 23) on mixtion glue (traditional stuff). The size of it is 74,5 x 64 cm or 30 x 25.6 inch. That’s about the specifications (often the most boring part).

From the very beginning I had this idea to send the drawing to you to America. So if you would be so kind to send me an address to which you would later receive it, would be great.

And about the photos I sent you… please believe me… are not as good as they should be but I tried several times and with different cameras. I took about 30 photos of that drawing. It’s usually hard to take a good photo from any arts, specially oil paintings with glossy surfaces… I have a huge problem on that at my own pictures, cause I’m somewhat more of a traditional as a painter.

Uros
