Piers Morgan welcomes actress, singer, and writerRosario Dawson for a candid and engaging interview, touching upon everything from politics to the environment, and her enthusiasm for riding trains.

With the fifth annual “National Train Day” rapidly approaching, the event’s official spokesperson details why she often lists the rails as her first choice for transportation:

“It is definitely one of the greener ways of traveling, but it’s also just one of the most beautiful ways of traveling,” says Dawson. “I love the conversations that I have when I’m on a train, I love the view of America that I get to have.”

A veteran of such films as “Seven Pounds,” “Rent,” and “Unstoppable,” the native of New York City says she still takes the subway to this day, admiring its authenticity:

“I’m a New Yorker, and that’s the best thing about New Yorkers. You create New York moments. People like ‘Yo what up Rosario,’ I’m like, ‘Yo wussup,’ and then we move about our way.”

Watch the clip as the 32-year-old speaks about two of her greatest passions, engaging young Latino voters, and “National Train Day.”

See Rosario perform on March 26th in the West End

A MEMORY, A MONOLOGUE, A RANT AND A PRAYER

Every so often things fly together in a delicate mix of elements to create something wonderful. Such is the case with A MEMORY, A MONOLOGUE, A RANT AND A PRAYER, a collection of one-night performances led by a growing cast of prominent talent from around the world. Headlined by Eve Ensler of Vagina Monologues fame, along with Rosario Dawson, Trudie Styler, Meera Syal MBE and more, strong women are slated to perform a collection of pieces to underscore how violence against women affects everyone.

As impressive as the performers are the London-based artistic talents filling the director’s chairs. From TATE Modern director Chris Dercon, the lovely Empress of the East, Iwona Blazwick OBE, to RADA’s Sue Dunderdale, even the impressive Marcus Warren and Anna Ledwich – it seems suddenly the world of art has collided with the world of theatre. There will be repercussions.

This collection of single acts is for a great cause: women. Part of V-Day 2012, 100% of proceeds go to charities dedicated to stopping violence against women and girls including Women for Women International and the Domestic Violence Intervention Project.

It’s also nice to see Goldman Sachs Gives matching ticket sales with donations, and that tripled by The Millby Charitable Trust. The fancy seats, which include a special after-party with the talent, go for £255.00 and benefit the causes most.

Don’t miss it.

Hollywood royalty Rosario Dawson (Seven Pounds, Men in Black 2, Sin City) caught a stir as she was serenaded by an all singing, all dancing tramp in London’s west-end. Passers-by looked on in amazement as the bemused star joined in and danced around with the excited gentleman.

Luckily, as it turns out she was making a cameo appearance in supergroup The Bullitts’ music video for new single Supercool, out 4th March.

Famous for her roles in Sin City and as leading lady to Will Smith in Seven Pounds, Rosario has been in London filming. She is set to star in upcoming The Blind Bastards with Lenny Kravitz and Fire With Fire alongside Fergie (Black Eyed Peas), Josh Duhamel and legend Bruce Willis.

Rosario Dawson’s collaboration with the group follows in the footsteps of another leading lady of the silver screen, the gorgeous Lucy Liu (Charlie’s Angels, Kill Bill) who narrates The Bullitts’ debut album.

“Evocative, provocative, highly imaginative and utterly individual” are just some of the words used to describe the band, who burst on the scene with first official single Supercool, [released on 4th March].

Upcoming album They Die Before Dawn and Other Short Stories, due later in 2012, already has industry ears pricking up and includes collaborations with an incredible line up, such as Tori Amos, Roisin Murphy, Jay Electronica, Idris Elba (Golden Globe 2012 winner) and Mos Def as well as it’s superstar narrator.

Actress Rosario Dawson hosted an exclusive cocktail reception last night at Tao in the Venetian to launch Love Universe, a lifestyle jewelry collection, and model Linda Vojtova and jewelry designer Genevieve Jones were on hand to present their Love Universe-branded collections.

The evening also spotlighted Love Pledge, which encourages people to commit 1 percent of their annual earnings and 1 percent of their annual time to philanthropic causes and charitable organizations of their choice.

Rosario wore Love Universe bracelets in honor of her grandmother, who recently passed away. She shared how generous her grandmother was and that the actress was dedicating her Love Pledge to her grandmother.

After dining in Tao’s private dining room, Rosario, whose credits include Rent, Sin City, Seven Pounds and TV’s Gemini Division, and the Love Universe team took over the skyboxes in the nightclub, and later Rosario and her girlfriends headed down to dance on the catwalk to the sounds of DJ Reach, who gave her a shout-out.

The closing session on Wednesday, June 8, features the presentation of a Presidential Volunteer Service award to actor and activist Rosario Dawson, performances by Grammy Award-winner Chris Thomas King and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee Percy Sledge and the announcement of the 2012 NCVS host city, all hosted by comedian John Oliver from “The Daily Show with Jon Stewart.”
